The Office of the City Clerk is the oldest among public servants, extending to ancient times, and exists today as a vital part of local government around the world. The City Clerk's Office is committed to providing transparency in government and strives for exceptional service to the citizens of Medina, its policy makers, and fellow staff.

The City Clerk's Office provides a variety of services that supports the City Council, City Departments, and the citizens of Medina including:

  • Produces meeting materials for City Council meetings
  • Handles oversight of all IT and telecommunications operations
  • Publishes City Council meeting agenda packets and takes meeting minutes
  • Provides notifications of Special City Council meetings and other events within the City
  • Maintains official documents, including Minutes, Ordinances, and Resolutions
  • Serves as the Official Public Records Officer for the City
  • Serves as Clerk to the Hearing Examiner
  • Serves as liaison to King County Elections
  • Serves as the designated agent for receiving summons and claims against the City
  • Help recruit members to serve on the City's Boards and Commissions
  • Provides notary services and passport services by appointment only
  • Maintains and publishes the public document library for all departments
