2026 Tree Inventory Project

Project Type:
Street
Project Status:
Budgeted
Date Received:
Thursday, February 26, 2026

The City of Medina will be conducting an inventory of trees within the public rights of way starting on Monday, March 3, 2026, through the first half of 2026. The trees we are inventorying are within public property, with most growing in front of private property. You may see our arborists evaluating trees near your home at some point. The data collected will not involve any information about private property or trees on private property. Please see the map for the current numbered work zone areas. This information can be found on the City’s website in the Community News and City Projects sections.

The goal of the inventory is to understand city public right of way tree types, sizes, locations and health. With this information the city can better manage its trees. When the inventory is completed, the data collected will be available on Medina’s website for anyone to view.

There will be two arborists performing the inventory for the city. The arborists will be wearing bright colored yellow vests with “Medina Staff” printed on the back. The arborists will also have photo identification on lanyards. If you have questions about the city tree inventory project, please contact Medina’s Development Services Director Steve Wilcox at swilcox@medina-wa.gov or 425-233-6409.
