Interim City Manager, Steve Burns

A Message from City Manager Steve Burns

I want to welcome you to the City of Medina – a tremendous place to live, play, and work.  After serving for over seven years as the Chief of Police in Medina, I have the opportunity to serve as the City Manager - an easy decision.  As the police chief, I had the opportunity to meet the incredible people that reside in this community and work with them on a variety of issues.  I have found the community to be engaging and supporting to create a safe and enjoyable place to live.  When there is an issue or concern, residents want to work to resolve it - I continue to see that same desire as the City Manager.

I am proud to be part of a positive and productive team that supports a great community.  The men and women that work for the City of Medina are committed to serving the community with the highest level of customer service, dedication, and professionalism. I am encouraged by the teamwork and relationships our employees have made with our citizens, fellow City employees, and neighboring jurisdictions.  Our staff work with our citizens to provide a safe and beautiful environment for family and friends to live and play. We work together to ensure we are efficiently using City resources to provide the best service to our citizens while looking for new and innovative ways to improve service.  We pride ourselves for the ongoing partnerships with our residents that allow us to focus on the needs of the community and respond quickly to the requests of our citizens. The positive relationship between the staff and community provides for an outstanding opportunity to make our neighborhoods safer and resolve issues quickly.  It is not uncommon for a police officer to assist a public works employee or see staff members from multiple departments helping a resident who walks into City Hall.  I see this even more now as the City Manager.

I believe that we need to communicate and create partnerships to continue to be successful as a community.  If you have an issue or concern, I encourage you to reach out to me or the amazing staff at City Hall.  If you are near City Hall, you can stop in and meet our friendly staff.

Lastly, I am honored to be part of a great team committed to providing the very best service to our community.
