City Council Initiates City Manager Contract Negotiation

At its June 9, 2025 meeting, the City Council authorized staff to begin contract negotiations with Interim City Manager Jeff Swanson for the permanent City Manager position.

Jeff Swanson has 26 years of experience in roles across the state of Washington including City
Manager, Interim City Administrator, Interim Finance Director, and Economic Development
Director. He is the current Managing Director of a consulting firm in Washington, as well as the
current interim City Manager of Medina. Previously he served as the City Manager for the City
of Battleground, WA. His education at Portland University includes completed coursework
towards a Ph.D. in Systems Science & Theory, two M.S. degrees, and a Bachelor's Degree in
Economics.
