PSE Storm Response
Medina Residents -
Puget Sound Energy is actively responding to power outages across their service area resulting from the current winter storm bringing heavy rains and wind gusts up to 40 mph. They wanted to provide their customers with an update on their response efforts and important safety information for communities.
Current Situation:
Their crews are working around the clock to assess damage and restore power as conditions allow. However, flood warnings in many parts of their service area present significant challenges, including:
Potential road closures and access issues that may delay power restoration efforts.
Possible impacts to our natural gas infrastructure from flooding and landslides.
Safety concerns that may temporarily halt field operations.
Their Response:
They understand how difficult it is for residents to be without power during severe weather. PSE crews will remain in the field to assess damage and restore power as long as it is safe to do so. When outages occur, they are committed to working around the clock to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
Important Safety Information for Communities:
Flooding and Gas Safety:
If any gas meters become submerged in flood waters, residents should report this immediately by calling PSE at 1-888-225-5773
Residents should stay out of flooded basements, as energized wiring or electrical outlets below the water line may pose serious electrical hazards
